Ursula's Story

A Native Philadelphian, Augustine's journey to becoming a beauty powerhouse began in the 1980s, the minute she ( a computer science major) dropped out of college to explore the world of makeup which she serendipitously found herself thrust into. Through the years she honed her craft working for some of the country's top beauty pioneers: Chanel, Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent (to name a few). In the decades since, Augustine has become famous for her iconoclastic approach to beauty, with her classic, signature makeup looks that has been seen on some of the world's most extraordinary and celebrated people from Jennifer Lopez to Britney Spears as the resident makeup artist at Adolf Biecker Salon/Spa at The Rittenhouse Hotel.

In 2007, this legendary beauty maverick and entrepreneur opened Ursula's About Phace™ Rittenhouse Makeup Studio -Philadelphia's first professional makeup studio- and launched her own beauty line of cosmetics, URS (pronounced Yours), which is known for its inclusive range of skin tones, natural, Halal certified, and cruelty-free formulations. Augustine has consistently championed a more natural and inclusive approach to beauty.

Augustine remains humbled by the continued local and national recognition her award winning brand receives and for her many loyal clients, fans and followers who she inspires to approach beauty and life in a joyful and inventive way.

Ursula also incorporates her artistic expertise into philanthropic involvement, she generously donates to projects of the non-profit Resources for Human Development, to offer a non-barrier income opportunity for individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty.

Ursula supports The Attic Youth Center’s mission to create opportunities for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ) youth; to have a positive impact on all aspects of youth’s lives- to facilitate growth, empowerment, and resiliency to develop into healthy, independent, civic-minded adults within a safe and supportive community and to promote the acceptance of LGBTQ youth in society.

Ursula serves on the Advisory Board, of The Uniquely You Youth Summit Inc. created to bring together women and girls of similar backgrounds in order to eliminate the perception of isolation, and meet self-esteem needs not addressed by conventional outreach and instruction.
